Joe Rendón

Director and Writer. In 2014, he developed his first series as Headwriter, PODER S.A. for HBOLatino and Filmadora Nacional. He has directed and headed projects such as DOGMA and MITA Y MITA for Televisa/VIX. He also directed DESCONTROL by Lemon Studios for Univisión USA in 2018. That same year, he co-produced, translated, and directed the play CINEMA 35 (The Flick by Annie Baker, Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama in 2014), receiving ACPT nominations for Best Adaptation and Best New Actor. In 2017, he filmed his debut feature film, COMO NOVIO DE PUEBLO for Warner Bros., produced by Traziende Films and Leonardo Zimbrón, reaching the top 10 at the national box office that year. He also co-directed the first season of the comedy sketch show BACKDOOR for Comedy Central, YouTube, and Amazon Prime. During the pandemic, he developed several series for Viacom, including the development and concept of the Amazon series HARINA He also directed the play EL EFECTO DEL AMOR DE LUCY PREBBLES for streaming theaters. In 2022, he directed BUNKER, a dark comedy miniseries for HBOMax that received nominations at the Rockie Awards and the International Emmys for Best Comedy. In 2023, he co-wrote the dark comedy NO NEGOCIABLE for Tiger House and Netflix, which became one of the international hits of the year. In 2025, he premiered 90 MINUTOS, a series he created, co-wrote, showrunner, and directed for Peacock in the US and Universal+ in Mexico and Latin America. He is currently developing theater and film projects for various national and international production companies.
