First job after leaving school was decorating Number 10 Downing Street, London whilst apprenticed to a specialist painting and decorating company.

Steve restored the antique slot machines seen in all the amusement arcade scenes in Resort to Murder (1995).

In December 2003, became the world's youngest pier owner, a bizarre claim to fame, when he sold his house in Ely in order to buy Victoria Pier, subject of the film Pier Pressure (2008).

You get kids who want to be train drivers or astronauts, but I wanted a pier. Silly structures appeal to me. Only the British are daft enough to build an iron structure in the middle of the sea.
