Paul was born and spent his childhood in Northwestern Washington State. His family then relocated to rural Iowa, where Paul graduated from high school. After college, Paul started a small production company in Kansas City before relocating to Des Moines.
After his viral hit "Iowa Nice," his filmmaking team became a standard bearer for Des Moines' ongoing cultural renaissance. He went on to create 2 national commercials, 36 original spots for ESPN, and regular creative content for their Youtube channel, which has received 3.8 million views. He returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2016.
