Biography

Juan Manuel Eguiagaray was born on December 24, 1945 in Bilbao, Vizcaya, País Vasco, Spain. He died on May 29, 2025.

He held a PhD in Law, a degree in Economics from the University of Deusto (Bilbao), a diploma in higher education from the University of Nancy (France), and was a professor of economic structure and policy at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Deusto.

In the early 1990s, Eguiagaray served as the Spanish government's delegate in the Basque Country and later served as Minister of Industry and Energy, as well as Minister of Public Administration.
