  • -Guillaume Soucy, originally from Drummondville (in the province of Quebec, Canada), began his musical career on the piano, but discovered the guitar in his teens. After completing his CEGEP in classical guitar, he went on to study instrumental composition at the Université de Montréal. Since then, he has composed several soundtracks for short and medium-length films: Histoire de Pêche, 27 international selections including several awards; L'écervelé, Fantasia DYI 2007 winner. Numerous short films as part of KINO activities, as well as advertising commissions (Jingles). Guillaume also composes for documentaries, including Sour Milk and Honey, for the 2006 Montreal World Film Festival. Having composed for symphony orchestras (UdeM 2005, SDJD 2006) as well as smaller ensembles (Quasar 2005, Nem 2005), he is now perfecting his skills in computer-assisted composition and recording. A multi-instrumentalist, Guillaume teaches at the Nantel School of Music where he is pedagogical director. He has performed with a number of artists, including Annie Caron, Élyse Robineault, Aimée Kassi, Karim Medfai and Muna Mingole, and plays in the group Maytiss, with whom he toured Haiti on behalf of refugees. He wrote the music for the album Poésic by Ivorian slammer Fabrice Koffy, whom he also accompanies on stage as musical director.
