Biography

Derek Shiel was born in Dublin and, having studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, settled in London where, in a varied career, he worked on painting, writing, sound sculpture and filmmaking. He wrote extensively about the artist-poet David Jones and, with Jonathan Miles, co-authored "David Jones: The Maker Unmade" (1995) published by Seren.
