Biography

Jason Michael Brescia is a writer director from Long Island, New York. In 2006 he enrolled at Chapman University in Orange, California where he received several honors upon graduating in 2009, including the college's Cecil B. DeMille Award for "Best Undergraduate Director" in 2008. On August 28, 2012, Brescia's debut feature film "The Newest Pledge" was released domestically with a distribution deal through Lions Gate. His second feature film "Bridge and Tunnel" screened in over thirty festivals around the world and was released in 2014 by Gravitas Ventures. In 2016, he wrapped production on his third feature film, "(Romance) In The Digital Age."

Was on the cover of the February 26, 2004 New York Newsday, when his high school took a "pilgrimage" to see Mel Gibson The Passion of the Christ (2004). The caption on the cover of that days front page reads "With cross aloft, Jason Michael Brescia leads Kellenberg Memorial students to theater." In reality, Jason was just one of over 1,500 students and faculty who went on the pilgrimage.

Recipient of the 2008 award for "Best Undergraduate Director" at Chapman University's Cecil Awards, an award show named after Cecil B. DeMille.

Thanks to The Newest Pledge (2010) he was the youngest director with a movie in stock when corporate owned Blockbuster Video stores permanently closed on January 12, 2014.
