- Carmela Hayslett grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she had original aspirations of becoming a writer but a chance meeting with some local Philadelphia filmmakers began her great love affair in acting. Hayslett was first known as her bossy but loveable horror hosting personality-- Roxsy Tyler or as her fans call her, "The Terror in a Top Hat" This soft-spoken eccentric, commonly known for her unique physical features (big eyes and very long legs) often chooses to play odd-ball characters ranging from nerds to underdogs to villains to vixens. Carmela Hayslett made her acting debut in 2010.

- At her book launch party for her first book she donated half of her profits to charity. She donated the largest portion of those earnings to Fox Chase Cancer Center in her Aunt's name who was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer that year. She also donated to Mothers Against Drunk Driving and The Magic Garden on South Street in Philadelphia.
