Biography

During his midday lunch break, the Northern Ireland born builder-turned-actor, walked from a New York City construction site, into an Equity Principal Audition, and a new career.

Impressing the prestigious Irish Repertory Theatre's artistic leadership, Ciaran was cast alongside a host of Broadway veterans, and SAG Award nominees, Cara Seymour and Joseph Sikora, in their 25th Anniversary production of Brian Friel's "The Freedom of the City."

Following his professional acting debut at Irish Rep,' the former plasterer quickly established a name for himself as a versatile journeyman actor, appearing to critical acclaim in numerous U.S. Regional and Off Broadway productions. Most notably starring alongside two-time Drama Desk Award winning actor Dearbhla Molloy, in Studio Theatre's multiple Helen Hayes Award nominated production of "Moment," followed by The Irish Repertory Theatre's subsequent revival of "Juno and the Paycock," with two-time SAG Award winner J. Smith-Cameron, and Irish Rep's 2024 Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk, and Outer Critic's Circle Award nominated revival of "Philadelphia Here I Come."

Handpicked by Steven Spielberg, Ciaran made his U.S. television debut in a recurring role on TNT's critically lauded Edward Burns and Steven Spielberg produced crime drama, "Public Morals," alongside series creator Burns, Michael Rapaport, Neal McDonough, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and Golden Globe, Tony, SAG, and Olivier Award winning actor Brian Dennehy.

Michael Mailer Films' and Jennifer Gelfer's award winning indie period drama "The Second Sun" marked Ciaran's feature film debut. The Irishman succeeded this to further acclaim for his portrayal of P.I. antihero Angus McGlaughlin, in Mailer Tuchman Media's psychological thriller "DieRy," alongside Academy Award nominee, Keisha Castle-Hughes, followed by his turn as earnest District Attorney, Ian Kerns, in MTM's "The Madness Inside Me," with Merrin Dungey. With his latest role in Marvel Studios' "Daredevil: Born Again" (S2), and new features, "The Best Friend," "All Hail Santa Claus," and Caitlin McCarthy's "Little Audrey," with Emily Vancamp, Jennifer Esposito, and Aidan Quinn, slated for theatrical release in 2026/27, the former builder continues to flourish in his second act.

Ciaran is a devoted family man to his wife and two daughters, a holder of U.K. U.S. and Irish/EU citizenships, a 4.0 tennis player, a keen western style horse rider, and was recently awarded the rank of Shodan/Black Belt in Kyokushin Karate, with a specialty in martial arts weaponry.
