Once had his jaw broken in three places from a car accident, then walked around that way for four days before finally going in to the doctor. The doctor asked upon showing Cooper the X-ray, "Do you by any chance have a high threshold for pain?".

Met his wife Jennifer Mauricci when they co-starred in a production of "The Myth of the Metamorphosis" for Teatro del Pueblo's 2004 Political Theatre Festival.

Youngest of two boys. Older brother Todd is percussionist/guitarist for The Goodyear Pimps rock/punk band, and The Sons a Many Bitches, a spin-off country band of the Pimps members.

Restored a 1955 Chevy with his father when he was a teenager, a car that he still owns and drives today.
