- Peter Yarin is a New York-based pianist, composer, arranger, and recording artist whose work spans film and television, jazz, theater, and concert music.
As a pianist and recording musician, his performances have been heard on numerous film and television soundtracks, including Killers of the Flower Moon, The Queen's Gambit, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Boardwalk Empire, whose soundtrack album won a Grammy Award. He has performed or recorded with artists including Regina Spektor, Elvis Costello, Liza Minnelli, St. Vincent, Rufus Wainwright, Michael Feinstein, Garrison Keillor, and Bette Midler.
Yarin is also a composer with a particular interest in collaborations for film and television where original music can help tell the story, deepen character and atmosphere, and interact meaningfully with the image. He composed original music for the musical Sempo at Tokyo's New National Theatre and continues to develop work for stage and screen.
His screen work has also included coaching actors to perform convincingly at the piano and appearing on camera as a musician, including on HBO's Succession.
He leads the Peter Yarin Trio, a modern jazz group centered on his original music and arrangements.
