Biography

Shane Taraschke is an American filmmaker, producer, and distributor and the founder of Blood Pact Films, an independent distribution company specializing in horror and genre cinema. Through Blood Pact Films he works with filmmakers around the world to release independent films across streaming platforms, physical media, and theatrical events.

Blood Pact Films was originally established as a production company before evolving under Taraschke's leadership into a distribution label focused on independent genre cinema. Through the company he has collaborated with filmmakers across North America, Europe, and Australia and has helped bring numerous independent genre titles to audiences worldwide.

Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, Taraschke moved to New York City in 2000 to study both the creative and business sides of filmmaking. After returning to the Midwest, he began producing independent projects in the late 2000s, directing several short films including Living Dead, Puzzled, Pipe Wrench, and What's Your Poison?

In 2015 he directed and produced the feature documentary The Paranormal Mackinaw Tapes, which explores paranormal folklore and history in a Midwestern community.

Taraschke is also the organizer of the Horror Haven Film Expo, a festival focused on connecting independent filmmakers with audiences, distributors, and industry professionals.
