Biography

Former Assistant Cruise Director with Holland America Cruise Lines and with Sitmar Cruise Lines, as well as a Princess Cruises live TV event host, producer and director.

For several years at Princess Cruises, Tony oversaw and directed the annual live TV production entitled, The Love Boat National Holiday during the Valentine’s Day week cruise - where more than 1,800 passengers would renew their wedding vows for the live-at-sea transmissions from the Princess ship to TV entertainment and news shows across the country.

At KPIX-TV (CBS), Mr. Perri was the on-air reporter, producer and director for the long-running San Francisco program, Evening Magazine and a producer/director for the nationally syndicated TV show, PM Magazine. While with Warner Bros. Studios, Tony produced and directed behind-the-scenes movie features, promos and trailers.

Mr. Perri began his award-winning career as a TV news anchorman and feature reporter before moving on to a staff position with the Walt Disney Company. At Disney, Tony excelled as an on-air host, live event producer and writer/director of Disney short films, promos, PSAs and behind-the-scenes movie productions.

At Disney, Tony collaborated with Academy-award winning actress, Julie Andrews and Football great Joe Montana - crafting content that has captivated global audiences. Mr. Perri has worked alongside directors George Lucas, Clint Eastwood and Francis Ford Coppola, as well as collaborations with Oprah Winfrey, Gene Hackman, Mary Tyler Moore, Joe Montana, Marie Osmond, Roy Disney, Julie Andrews, Bruce Willis, Michael Keaton, Ronald Reagan, Paul McCartney, Sylvestor Stallone, Nolan Ryan, Mickey Mantle, Demi Moore, Gavin MacCloud, Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Muhammed Ali, Christina Applegate, Michael Jackson, Charo, Bob Hope, Mike Love, Gerald Ford, Michael Eisner, David Lynch, the Dalai Lama, Donovan and Mickey Mantle.

His documentary School of Thought, featuring filmmaker David Lynch and Paul McCartney, has received critical praise at international film festivals. Mr. Perri's feature film Serotonin Rising, starring the Dalai Lama and Deepak Chopra, won the prestigious Audience Choice Award at the Estes Park Film Festival.

Today, Tony Perri is an executive producer, on-air host, writer and director at Coronado Beach Company where he continues to host live events, produce feature films, documentaries and short films.

And as a former adjunct professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder and a teacher at the Coronado School of the Arts, Mr. Perri continues to teach creative writing and filmmaking workshops across Southern California.

A passionate educator, Tony is committed to nurturing the next generation of storytellers. He developed and teaches the acclaimed "Backpack Journalism" workshop at the University of California, San Diego's Digital Arts Center, empowering students to master multimedia storytelling with techniques inspired by his work with Oscar-caliber professionals. As an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado, he instructs courses in documentary production, television production, on-air performance, and broadcast journalism, drawing on his experiences collaborating with Academy Award winners to inspire aspiring filmmakers and journalists.
