Biography

Maria del Rosario is a rising star among young Colombian actresses because of her work in the Italian film "EL PARAÍSO," which is part of the 80th Venice International Film Festival in the Orizzonti category.

Maria was born in Buga, Valle del Cauca and has been involved in the performing arts since childhood. She has studied ballet, vocal technique, piano, flute, and acting, taking on leading roles in classic works by William Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, Henrik Ibsen, and Tennessee Williams. After completing her studies at Pontifical Javeriana University, she has continued to hone her craft with various acting courses.

Maria has an extensive professional career, thanks to her constant, passionate, disciplined and rigorous work. She has worked on twenty-five projects between soap operas, TV series, and sitcoms. Eight theater productions, six short films, and two movies. Maria gained national recognition in the series "LA NIÑA," produced by Caracol TV, where she played the antagonist YOLIMA. In 2020, critics praised her portrayal of the character LA GRILLA in the Spanish series "PERDIDA." The project remained in the top 5 of the Netflix platform for several weeks. In 2021, she worked on the first APPLE TV series produced in Latin America. The series was written and directed by two-time Oscar winner Mark Boal. Her character GRACIELA showcased the actress's versatility and depth, confirming her international potential. In 2022, she filmed her first English-language movie. The film, titled "DOMINIQUE," was produced by the American company Green Dog Films and the Colombian company Agora Films. She played the role of Paulina in this Colombian-American production.

Maria currently resides in Bogotá and is fluent in Spanish, English, and bases of Italian.
