Biography

  • Arfi Laamba is an actor and producer whose career spans both mainstream Indian cinema and independent international film. He is perhaps best known to global audiences for his role as Bardi in Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire (2008), the Oscar-winning drama that brought him early international exposure. He followed that with appearances in Bollywood productions including Prague (2012), Fugly (2014), and the Akshay Kumar comedy Singh Is Bliing (2015).

Alongside his acting work, Laamba has built a steady presence as a working producer on smaller, often internationally oriented projects. He served as associate producer on Maunraag (2013) and produced the indie film Loev (2015). He co-produced Midi Z's The Road to Mandalay (2016), which earned a nomination for the Tridens Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2016. He has continued producing into the mid-2020s, with producing credits on Trijya: Radius (2026) and Thursday Night Is Too Dark (2026), a co-producing role on Spying Stars (2025), and a service producer credit on Frostbite (2026). He also produced and appeared in the short film The Protector (2022).

On the acting side, Laamba has taken roles across a range of formats in recent years, from the television movie Love in the Time of Corona (2021) to the series Aantrik (2021) and the feature Avani (2025), where he plays Saadiq. He has also appeared in a number of short films over the years, including Murakh (2017), which he produced as well, and A for Antara (2021), in which he plays Assmaan.
