Biography

Daniel is an Emmy-winning producer, writer, cinematographer, director and editor. His first feature documentary, "A Place to Stand", the powerful true story of poet Jimmy Santiago Baca, was released in 2016 and was broadcast nationally on PBS in 2018. Daniel's short film "Iniskim" garnered three Emmy nominations and one Emmy win (for Photography). In February of 2024, his second feature documentary "Bring Them Home / Aiskótáhkapiyaaya" (co-directed with Ivy and Ivan MacDonald and narrated by Academy Award-nominee Lily Gladstone) premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and won the Big Sky Award. His work has been supported by SFFILM, The Gotham, The Sundance Institute, Doc Society and The Redford Center.
