Biography

Aaron Moore, a native of Los Angeles, California, is a composer, music producer, and instrumentalist. He grew up dabbling with piano and clarinet, but found his most natural footing with electric guitar and rock music. He later gravitated to making music as part of a Electronic Music course at Hamilton High School, learning how to construct recordings and come up with musical ideas on computer programs such as Reason and Garageband. After a short stint at UC Santa Cruz studying music, he transferred and completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at California Institute of the Arts in 2010. It was there where he began focusing intently on composition and scoring for animation and film, gaining experience of how to write for specific instruments and in many different styles in the process. He studied with the late Arthur Jarvinen at CalArts, and was exposed to a multitude of cultural music practices at the institution. In 2012, he began his Master's in Screen Scoring at New York University while studying with composer Mark Suozzo, further honing how to write music to picture and finding a unique musical voice. He completed his Master's in 2014. Since 2018, he has been a writer for the production music library Patron Saints of Music.
