- Claire M. Wheatley was involved in many theatre productions in her youth. 'The Soldier' was her first taste of film making. Since her director partner Shaun Robert Smith established Smudge Film Productions Claire has been involved in many productions including the Joe Power documentary 'Inside the Mind of a Medium' and Nottingaham based Swound's music video for 'Bust A Move'. Since 2007 Claire has been a part of Shaun Robert Smith's special effects training program.

- During the filming on 'The Soldier' as well as Assistant Director she was also part of the effects team, Claire was carring the Gore Box when she tripped and fell, the entire contents of the box were emptied out over her.
