Biography

Cara Yeates is a Canadian filmmaker based in New York. Her award-winning narrative short, "Gone Before Your Eyes," is available on PBS and has received ten awards, including two for directing and the Leiden International Film Festival's award for an Extraordinary Short.

She produced "The New Yorker Theater: A Talbot Legacy," a short documentary that screened at Lincoln Center and major festivals, including DOC NYC, Il Cinema Ritrovato, DC/DOX, Woodstock, Santa Barbara, and the Hamptons International Film Festivals. She also produced the female-driven comedy series, "Stut," that was part of the Tribeca Film Festival and was bought by Revry TV.

Yeates is a partner at Trigger Creative, a New York-based boutique production company known for crafting globally produced content for clients such as Morgan Stanley, Michelob, and Ford.

She worked with Film at Lincoln Center and the New York Film Festival as the filmmaker liaison, managing talent for the world premieres of films by Steven Spielberg, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Spike Jonze. She also currently serves as treasurer on the board of Upstate Women in Film.

Yeates began her creative journey in the theatre, where she toured four critically acclaimed, award-winning one-woman shows (two of which she wrote) across North America. Critics lauded her work as "blistering," "a tour de force," and "irresistible."
