Eileen Howard is a 30 year veteran of stage, screen and commercial work.
She was born in Evanston, Illinois and grew up in Seattle, Washington and Chicago, Illinois. She studied acting and flute in High School. Her degrees in International Studies and Marketing were obtained from The American University in Washington, DC. She then worked for 12 years in community development in the US, Australia and Venezuela.
After returning to the US, she began her acting career in the early 1980's as a theater actress in Toledo, Ohio, appearing in many productions with The Toledo Repertoire Theatre and The Adrian Opera House (Michigan). The most acclaimed of these were two record-setting runs of Nunsense, playing Sister Leo. She was also a perennial Mrs. Cratchet, performing in December at the 1,710 seat Peristyle Theater for sold out performances.
After a move to Columbus,Ohio in 1992, she studied acting with Penelope Morgan, John S. Kuhn and Richard Mason. She performed in dozens of theater productions, garnering critical acclaim and acting Awards of Excellence from the Central Ohio Theatre Roundtable for Mother (A New Brain)and Woman 2 (Jerry's Girls), as well as an Excellence in Directing for I Never Sang for My Father. She was named Best Supporting Actress by the Columbus Alive arts magazine for Gorgeous (The Sisters Rosensweig), and received a LINK award for excellence for the title role in Sylvia. In 2006, she appeared in New York at the International Fringe Festival in the leading role of Trudy in Ha!Ha! Club.
In film she appeared in a featured role in Accidents at Home and How They Happen (2008), Walkaway (Department of Motor Vehicles), and in a number of industrials and commercials for companies such as AOL, Honda, Atlas Butler, Cutco, Softac, and Ross Labs.
She also developed a thriving career as a professional jazz and blues singer, appearing at the Columbus Jazz & Ribs Festival, Creekside Blues and Jazz Fest, The Columbus Arts Festival, and many other music venues. She released four CD's to critical acclaim.
In 2013 she moved to New York, appearing on stage as Waitress (702 Punchlines and Pregnant) at the Broadway Comedy Club, as Baroness Frankenstein (Frankenstein) at The Hudson Guild, Millie (Don't Do It) at The Complete Theatre Company, and Judith (Mrs. Schrodingers' Cat) at Manhattan Rep. In film she was Woman in the Mirror in Frame of Mind, and Chatty Mom, in There May be Spoilers. TV credits include Mother of Mad Maks in The Killer Speaks (2012), Parishioner in Poisoned Passions (2013), and Cook in Murders & Mansions with ID Discovery.
