John Watson was born on May 4, 1946 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK.

Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Brabham (1973 (2 GPs)-1974 (15 GPs), 1977 (17 GPs)-1978 (16 GPs)), Surtees (1975 (11 GPs)), Lotus (1975 (1 GP)), Penske (1975 (1 GP)-1976 (16 GPs)) and McLaren (1979 (15 GPs)-1980 (13 GPs)-1981 (15 GPs)-1982 (15 GPs)-1983 (14 GPs), 1985 (1 GP)). He started 152 Grands Prix, 5 Wins, 2 Pole Positions, 5 Fastest Laps, 20 Podiums and 169 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 3rd in 1982.

At 1981 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, John Watson secured his second Formula 1 win and first victory for the trend-setting carbon fibre composite monocoque McLaren MP4 car, designed by John Barnard.

Teammates in Formula One were: Andrea de Adamich, José Carlos Pace, Ronnie Peterson, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Giorgio Francia, Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet, Patrick Tambay, Alain Prost, Stephen South and Andrea de Cesaris.
