Estephan Wagner

Estephan Wagner is a multi award-winning documentary director and editor with over two decades of experience. Born in Chile and based in Copenhagen, he studied editing in Germany and directing at the National Film and Television School in London. He is renowned for a protagonist-centered approach that blends personal narratives with systemic human rights issues. His directorial highlights include "Songs of Repression", winner of the main Dox:Award at Cph:Dox, and "Les Sauteurs", which earned the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Berlinale. As a prominent editor, Wagner recently edited the high-stakes documentary "The Oligarch and the Art Dealer," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. His editing credits also include acclaimed titles like "Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other" and "Daughter of Genghis." Fluent in six languages, Wagner’s work is defined by its international scope and deep empathy for those living on the margins of society.
