Greg Jeffs

Biography

  • Greg Jeffs is an award-winning Canadian filmmaker working in genre, comedy, and character-driven storytelling. His work explores the tension between performance and authenticity, often placing characters inside systems that define who they are and then watching what happens when those systems begin to break down.

His directorial debut, It’s All in Your Head (2016), premiered at Horror Channel FrightFest and went on to screen internationally, earning multiple festival awards. The film is currently available on CBC Gem and iTunes worldwide. He recently directed two seasons of the award-winning series You’re My Hero (2024-2025) for CBC Gem, further refining a performance-driven approach to comedy grounded in character and lived experience.

As a writer-producer, Greg has developed projects that balance genre accessibility with a distinct point of view. His short film The Hunt (2013) was named Best Horror Short by Rue Morgue Magazine and received a theatrical release in Canada. His earlier film Dead Walkers (2009) was among the first Canadian shorts distributed on iTunes and broadcast nationally.

Greg is an alumnus of the National Screen Institute Features First program and the TIFF Talent Lab. His feature project Deadheaders was selected as the winner of the 2021 Junior Entertainment Talent Slate (JETS), and continues to evolve as a theatrical feature.

A Type 1 diabetic for over 30 years, Greg brings a lived perspective to his work and is committed to expanding representation on screen and behind the camera.
