Biography

Katharina Nuttall is a Norwegian-British conceptual artist and film composer whose work inhabits the intersection of cinematic storytelling, sound art, and experimental music practice. Based in Stockholm and raised between Norway and the United Kingdom, she has developed a distinctive musical language shaped by voice, acoustic instrumentation, and electronic manipulation.

Her compositions are marked by a strong dramaturgical sensibility and an uncompromising artistic voice, often moving seamlessly between fragile intimacy and expansive sonic landscapes. Nuttall’s scores have received international recognition through films and television productions such as The King, Gudrun, Woman on the Roof, and Filmen om Siw, earning her multiple awards and nominations including the Camille Awards - The European Film Composers Award.

Educated at SKH and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where she completed Master’s degrees in Sound Art and Film Music Composition, Nuttall approaches film scoring as an extension of a broader conceptual art practice. Her work has been presented at international festivals including Tribeca, and she collaborates widely with filmmakers and visual artists across Europe.

Alongside her work for screen, she has released four critically recognized solo albums and produced numerous recordings for other artists. Her ongoing projects continue to explore the narrative power of sound in contemporary cinema, including the upcoming Netflix production Trustor (2026).
