Biography

Felipe Silva is a Mexican-American writer and 2022 International Emmy Award winner for his work on Buscando a Frida. With over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Felipe has developed expertise in creating original content for Hispanic audiences, blending his passion for telenovelas with a deep understanding of narrative and creative strategy.

He began his career working as an assistant director and continuity supervisor at Televisa Mexico, where he spent over 5 years learning the craft of telenovelas. After relocating to Los Angeles, Felipe studied Cinema and TV at LACC and, in 2005, was selected by Telemundo Network (NBC Universal) for a one-year workshop to train as a telenovela writer. Since then, he has written for numerous hit shows, including La Historia de Juana (2024), El Conde: Amor y Honor (2024), The Search for Frida (2021), La Reina del Sur (2022), and False Identity (Season 2).

In addition to his work as a writer, Felipe has also made a mark as a creative producer and campaign strategist. Over his career, he has launched over 350 campaigns for TelevisaUnivision and Telemundo, including promotional campaigns for Caso Cerrado, where he served as lead producer for more than a decade. His work has spanned telenovelas, series, musicals, realities, and special events, making him a key figure in the development and promotion of Hispanic content.

In 2011, Felipe founded Storydreamz LLC, a company based in Miami, where he develops stories and scripts for movies, TV, and digital content. He continues to combine his dual expertise as a fiction writer and creative strategist, contributing to the success of major Hispanic television networks.
