Convicted of the May 16, 1983 killing of Jacksonville, FL police officer Gary Bevel as he tried to arrest her for filing a false police report. Jackson claimed that she killed Bevel because their confrontation caused her to have a flashback to a childhood sexual assault. Initally prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney
Bernie de la Rionda, Jackson's death sentence was commuted to life with the possibility of parole in 2000.
