Kian Lawson-Khalili is a half-English, half-Iranian actor, screenwriter, and director born and raised in Denmark with over eight years of experience in film. His journey began at age 12, when he was cast as the lead in the 24-episode TV series Theo & Den Magiske Talisman (2018). Since then, Kian has immersed himself fully in the world of cinema.
In addition to writing, directing, and acting in both his own and others' films, Kian has built extensive expertise in sound and sound design-both on set and in post-production-drawing from his strong background in music and composition. These skills converge in his latest work, Candle Bearer (2025), a music-driven exploration of taboo, addiction, and emotional vulnerability.
Afterwards he became a part of FilmEU's Pathfinder Programme - an international initiative to strengthen overseas cinematic collaboration, where Kian moved to Brussels as part of this project. This group unites over their filmmaking aspirations across Lisbon, Belgium, Bulgaria, Ireland and more European countries within the FilmEU alliance.
