Biography

Mercedes Marro, director of Tomavision and Tomavision Studio, has 25 years' experience in the animation industry as director and producer.

She has worked developing her own projects and helping other companies or creators to produce their ones. One of her latest works is her agreement with the Chinese production company Left Pocket Animation in Shanghai, working as co-director and co-producer -alongside with Pierre Nothman as executive producer- on the Animated TV Series 'Emmy & GooRoo' (Season 1, 52x11').

On this TV Series, her team worked in multiples production tasks: from Script to Animation, until to be placed on the market, attracting distributors and broadcasters. Now, she is co-producing the Second Season (104x7').

Standing out on her filmography titles such as 'Break a Leg', 'Sincopats', 'Collonades' or Ask Lara. This last one was a nominee in the Emmy® Kids Awards, and in the British Animation Awards (BAA), both in 2012. Also, it received a nomination for the International Public Television (INPUT) 2013.

As a director, highlight her international titles 'Howdy Gaudi', 'Blanche', 'Picnic with Pie, Pikkuli' and the short film 'Water Path for a Fish', pre-nominee for the best short film in the Goya Awards 2017.

Alongside Pierre Nothman, Mercedes Marro and her team have worked with renowned national and international broadcasters: TV3 (Spain), BBC (UK); VPRO (Netherlands); YLE (Finland); TV Brazil (Brazil); NRK Super (Norway) o Canal + (France), among others.
