- Mikkel Boe Følsgaard was born in Rønne and raised in Gilleleje. He graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2012.
While still at drama school, he won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlinale for his performance in the film A Royal Affair (2012), becoming the first Dane to receive this honor. He is also the recipient of the Shooting Stars Award, presented by the European Film Promotion at the Berlinale.
His other notable works include The Legacy (2014-2017), Land of Mine (2015), A Perfectly Normal Family (2020), The Chestnut Man (2021), and Borgen (2022).
