Father of five children with Sarah Palin: son, Track Palin (Track Charles James, born on April 20, 1989), daughter, Bristol Palin (Bristol Sheeran Marie, born on October 18, 1990), daughter, Willow Palin (Willow Bianca Faye, born on July 7, 1995), daughter, Piper Palin (Piper Indy Grace, born on 2001) and son, Trig Palin (Trig Paxson Van, born on April 18, 2008).

Grandfather of Tripp Johnston (Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, born on December 27, 2008) the son of Bristol Palin.

Ex-father-in-law of Dakota Meyer.

Of the three husbands of a female major party U.S. vice presidential nominee (John Zaccaro and Doug Emhoff are the other two), Palin is the only one who wasn't born in Brooklyn, New York City, and the only one whose wife used his last name in politics.

Though he was called "First Dude" (of Alaska), he is the only individual who had the unique distinction of being the first gentleman of a U.S. state (i.e., the husband of governor) and being in running to be the second gentleman of the United States (i.e., the husband of the vice president).
