Salme is an Australian actor born in Tehran. Her family moved to Australia when she was four years old, and she grew up on the Central Coast, NSW. She took her first acting class while studying Biotechnology at the University of Newcastle. Her passion for acting led her to leave her studies and pursue performing arts at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (AADA) in Sydney.

Her first TV appearance was on the hit police drama series 'Rush' (Network Ten/Southern Star) opposite Rodger Corser and Catherine McClements. She has since worked on other major Australian television shows including the highly popular series 'Winners & Losers' (Seven Network), Australia's longest-running drama series 'Neighbours' (Fremantle), and most recently the 2024 Canneseries-nominated urban drama series 'Swift Street' (SBS).

She played Detective Majano in the 2021 Netflix crime thriller series 'Clickbait' (NBCUniversal/Matchbox Pictures), and Anousha in 'Mystery Road: Origin' (ABC), which won Best Drama Series in the 2022 AACTA Awards, and also won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in the Equity Ensemble Awards 2023.

Her film credits include 'Izzy Gets the F*ck Across Town' alongside MacKenzie Davis, which premiered at the 2017 LA Film Festival, and the 2019 sci-fi thriller 'The Mandela Effect' directed by David Guy Levy.

Playing the role of Marjan, Salme starred in the 2024 Melbourne Theatre Company's production of Sanaz Toossi's Pulitzer-winning play 'English'. The production received excellent reviews both in Melbourne and Canberra, where they toured.

Salme speaks Farsi and Spanish. She trains in Muay Thai and has her black belt in Aikido. Her martial arts weapons training includes the jo and bokken.

Salme has training in many styles of dance including Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. She currently trains in Muay Thai and Aikido.

Studied Biotechnology at the University of Newcastle, Australia.

Won Best Supporting Actress at the Toscars 2016 for the award winning comedy &#39;The Short Short&#39;.

Salme has earned her Shodan (1st degree) black belt in Iwama Ryu Aikido. She trains with the bokken and jo. Salme also trains in Muay Thai.
