Biography

After college he began as a print journalist with the New Zealand Herald followed by The Dominion. He returned to England to write for Portsmouth's Western Morning News before returning to New Zealand in 1968 to work with the state broadcaster then known as the NZ.

As a child he lived with his aunt who was housekeeper to renowned actor and musician Ivor Novello.

Tenacious investigative journalist for New Zealand broadcasters TVNZ and TV Three.

Received the 1988 David Beattie Journalism Award for Best Television News Reporter.

Received the 1999 Qantas Media Award, Current Affairs Reporter of the Year, Best Documentary Scriptwriter.
