Biography

Oguz Kaplangi, a prolific musician based in Edinburgh mainly composes for TV, theatre, advertising and big screen productions. His compositions explore a wide array of musical styles, ranging from electronic, rock, dub to pop, world, ambient, orchestral and Middle Eastern.

Oguz won the award for the "Best Music and Sound" at the Critics for Theatre in Scotland 2018 (CATS AWARDS) with the music he composed for Zinnie Harris' adaptation of Ionesco's famous play Rhinoceros. It was staged at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, in co-production with the Edinburgh International Festival in association with DOT Theatre.

In the United States, his music is being used in TV shows including A&E's Emmy-nominated, "Wahlburgers", "Donnie Loves Jenny", "Nightwatch", "Lock Up", "Sexy Beasts", "According To Alex", "Killer Kids", "Young Marvels", "Big Brew Theory" and "Bizarre Foods".

Oguz has worked with CP+B London, Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam, Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett, DDB, BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, Thompson, MullenLowe, McCann Erickson, Grey and many boutique agencies and film production companies in Istanbul.

Oguz is the owner of "Creatrax" in Edinburgh, "Elec-Trip" in Istanbul and the man behind "Express Jingles", a library music catalog represented in many countries.
