Biography

  • Gigi Garner is the daughter of Hollywood icon James Garner. She went to the Westlake School for Girls (now Harvard-Westlake) and then attended the University of Southern California Film School. Part and parcel of her studies at USC, she studied films of (Germany's) The Third Reich for a semester abroad in Wiesbaden and Munich, Germany, and even worked at CAA (Creative Artist's Agency) for a stint.

She made her TV debut on Ralph Edwards' TV program, James Garner (1958), when she was an infant. Many years later, Ms. Garner was chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press to be "Miss Golden Globe" 1988.

She has been a "charted" recording artist in Europe, was a hostess on a 'Thames Television' TV show in 1983 and 1984, and has also appeared on various other TV shows in the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany.

She has also been a "real" licensed private investigator in the state of Tennessee, a print model, a commercial spokesperson, written three #1 songs, authored two books, "The Cop Cookbook" and "Girl Talk," and even making handcrafted jewelry for many major TV shows and celebrities.

In support of actors and in honor of her father's profession, she runs her own successful talent management business, Gigi Garner Management. She has been able to place her actors on a great many top rated TV shows in "Guest Starring", "Recurring" and even series regular roles.

She has also continued her father's production legacy, through his legendary "Cherokee Productions" brand, which has been responsible for various well-known films and television shows, including, but not limited to: Grand Prix (1966), Support Your Local Sheriff! (1969), Marlowe (1969), Carl Belfast, Nichols (1971), and of course, The Rockford Files (1974). In this same vein, as of 2018, she has been and continues to be involved in the production of a variety of movies and TV shows, including an announced, but undefined, Rockford Files continuation or reboot.
