- Laura Hunter Drago is a Los Angeles-based writer whose work centers women as they find their power in elevated thrillers and character-driven coming-of-age stories, all with a dark comedic edge. Her latest project, the short satirical thriller Tradwife, was an official selection at Slamdance in 2026.
Laura was named one of the Austin Film Festival’s "25 Screenwriters to Watch," is a Film Independent Project Involve Screenwriting Fellow, and a Sony Pictures Entertainment Fellowship recipient.
Laura’s writing has won awards at the Austin Film Festival and the WeScreenplay Short Script Lab, among other accolades. She wrote, directed, and produced the Webby Award Honoree scripted mystery podcast series The Crime at Camp Ashwood; directed and produced the Coven Film Festival runner-up animated short The Echo; and produced the award-winning, 100% woman-made feature To the New Girl, featured on Little Dot Studios’ Created By Women channel.
Laura is an alumna of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
