Biography

Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia for the first ten years on this planet and in West Chester, PA for 8 more until college, Dave has had an interesting journey. Struck by a tragic family even early on and seeing how secretive adults can be when children aren't around, Dave found solace in books, movies and television before he was able to tie his shoes. Using his Muppets as the cast and a janky video camera, he made his first short film at age 8 and things were never the same after that. In 1996, he was given his first 35mm camera and the two have been inseparable. During high school, he was very quiet and couldn't connect with many people. He spent his weekends watching old movies and found comfort in books when everyone else was drag racing in front of Wendy's. After high school ended, he attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a focus on writing .After 2 years there and gaining personal experiences though the people he met and the places her worked (ever been to the deli counter in a south philly supermarket? I got stories for days.) Dave grew weary of the city and wanted to see the college life he saw in the movies, so he went to Hofstra University in Long Island. After a year of that, he had some more characters to write about and he returned to Philadelphia to Temple University. Completing his education there with a senior thesis film under his belt he wanted to stick around Philly for a bit and see what other projects he could work on. Bouncing back and forth between Philly and Brooklyn for a few years working on indie films and small theatre shows while working day jobs at café's and restaurants, he made his way to Los Angeles. Working at film festivals, cafes and talking shop with anyone he could, he was ready to start working. After some deep soul searching and the Covid virus shutting down the city, he returned to Brooklyn with dozens of scripts ready to be read. Dave is an ambitious little thing who wants to work with creative people to make something that will out live them.
