Caitlin Matthews is the author of over 60 books in both popular and
academic non-fiction, poetry and children's fiction. Her major adult
books include Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom (Quest Books); King Arthur:
Myth & Legend (Folio Society); and Encyclopaedia of Celtic Wisdom
(Rider). Her work has been translated into more than 35 languages.
Caitlin was the Pictish language consultant and song writer for Jerry Bruckheimer's King Arthur. She shared with John Matthews, who was historical consultant on the film, in the Lego/Bafta Kid's Vote award, given to King Arthur CD-Rom (Film Education/PPC/BVI, 2004): this project introduced school-children to the life and times of King Arthur Caitlin has made many appearances on international television in documentaries and interviews, including Diverse Productions' The New Age, Kudos Productions' Desperately Seeking Something and the Ancient Mysteries production of The Quest for the Holy Grail,Secets of the Code, for Sony Pictures. She appears frequently on TV and radio as an expert on myth, history and spirituality. She has provided expert advice for many documentaries and has also featured on several CDs as a narrator, composer and performer. As a singer and song-writer, she is a member of MCPS, Society of Authors and ACLS.
