Pedro Sotero is a cinematographer with an extensive filmography spanning short films, feature films, and television series. He has collaborated with directors such as Kleber Mendonça Filho, Bárbara Wagner, Nara Normande, Joana Jabace, and Argentine filmmaker Benjamín Naishtat. His cinematography work includes over 15 feature films, five of which were selected for the Cannes Film Festival: Aquarius (2016), Gabriel and the Mountain (2017), Bacurau (2019), Pictures of Ghosts (2023), and Baby (2024).
Sotero received the Best Cinematography award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for Rojo (2018), and his work was featured at the Venice Biennale with the installation Swinguerra (2019). His recent credits include Baby, Meu Nome é Gal, Propriedade, Betinho: Living On A Razor's Edge (Globoplay), 3 episodes of Sintonia fifth season (Netflix), and the second season of Cangaço Novo (Amazon Prime), slated for release in 2026. In 2025 he shot the Argentinian noir feature Glaxo, produced by RT Features on his second collaboration with Argentinian director Benjamín Naishtat, also slated for release in 2026.
