Misono(I)

Misono is a Japanese pop singer who has seldom acted. She followed her older sister Kumi Koda into the music business, but she has not achieved the sales or fame of her sister (who has been a superstar in Japan for over a decade). In an industry in which performers often try to capitalize on any association they have with someone more famous, Misono made the unusual choice to deemphasize her connection to Kumi Koda by using only her given name professionally. So she is known as Misono, not Koda Misono (in Japan, family names precede given names.) Misono made her professional debut in 2002 as part of the group Day After Tomorrow. She became a solo performer in 2006 when the group broke up. She has released several top-10 singles and six albums.
