Biography

Rebecca Calder is an award winning English film, television and theatre actress born in Consett, County Durham. The middle of three sisters, she is the Great-Great-Granddaughter of the Maori Chief Te Hau Takiri Wharepapa of the Ngapuhi tribe, and daughter of the Jazz musician John Leigh Calder. She is known for her work on screen and stage and won critical acclaim for her leading performances in the films Broken Bird and Love Me Do.

Rebecca Calder is originally from County Durham, England, but was later schooled in Australia and New Zealand. Her career began on stage at the Arcola Theatre in London. She lives in London and has two daughters.
