  • Through his company Initialize Films, Ian has worked as a Producer / Executive Producer / Consultant on a wide range of award-winning fiction and documentary films (Emmy's, BAFTAs, British Independent Film Awards, as well as prizes at many international film festivals including Sundance). Fiction films include BAFTA winner '71 starring Jack O' Connell, BAFTA (Cymru) winner Moon Dogs, Sundance winner God Help the Girl starring Emily Browning, BAFTA (Scotland) nominates Iona and Swung, and BAFTA Breakthrough winner (for Florence Pugh) on The Falling. Documentary features include Emmy winner The English Surgeon, BAFTA nominee and Venice TV winner Hatton, Critics Choice winner Checkpoint Zoo and British Independent Film Award nominee Off the Rails.

    From 2005 to 2018 Ian worked as a consultant for 8 national film funds, as well as the Creative Europe's Media Fund, the largest film development fund in Europe.

    Ian has led sessions on film producing at several film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Toronto, Venice, IDFA, HotDocs, Sheffield, and has been a visiting tutor on several film / writing courses including Oxford University's Creative Writing MA and the International School of Film and Television in Cuba.
