Biography

Lucas RUE studied in ESRA (Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle), a famous film school in Paris. After his graduation in 2006, he worked on more than 60 films (Short Films, Music Videos, Documentaries, TV Shows and Feature Films as Director, Assistant Director, Director of Photography, Cameraman and Gaffer. In 2015, he directed "Self story", a 2 seasons web series which became at the time, the most awarded French webisodes with 35 nominations and 21 prizes in international festivals. In 2017, Lucas directed a feature length documentary " Fukushima : The silent voices" which has been selected in 20 international festivals ( including Yamagata documentary festival) and won 3 Awards. For 4 years, Lucas also worked as assistant for two of the most famous acting coaches in U.S : Bob Mc Andrew (coach of Christopher Walken, Richard Dreyfuss and Chris Cooper ) and Susan Batson (Coach of Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Jammy Fox). After this experience, Lucas became acting coach himself and for 10 years gave classes in one of the most prestigious acting school in Paris ( Belmondo's L'entree des artistes ). In 2018, after the shooting of his documentary "Fukushima : The silent voices", Lucas moved to pursue his career in Japan.

Lucas studied at ESRA (Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle) a renowned film school in Paris, France. During this time, he also studied acting with French acting teacher Eric Viala, and later trained with two renowned American acting coaches: Susan Batson in New York and Bob McAndrew in Paris, with whom Lucas also collaborated as a cameraman for four years. As he is continuously working on film sets, Lucas eventually has the opportunity to teach in one of the most prestigious acting schools in Paris, "L'Entrée des Artistes" directed by Olivier Belmondo. As "acting on-screen" teacher for this institution from 2007 to 2017, Lucas developes and sharpens his own method of teaching acting. In 2017, he moves to Japan to continue his work as an acting coach and filmmaker. In 2020, he joins ELFS Japan (English Language Film School) to work as an acting tutor. In 2025, Lucas becomes a Designated Meisner Teacher, certified by the Meisner Institute L.A., marking nearly two decades of dedication to training actors.
