Feature credits for Ryan include starring as a driven Inventor in Grizzly Flats (with Judd Nelson), a troubled Chef in Moviestar, and a forlorn Writer in Through the Night. His type is often 'intelligent, forceful, and brooding.' Acclaimed stage credits include The Seagull, Twelfth Night, and The Diary of Anne Frank.

In the alley of comedy, Ryan studied Improvisation at Second City and is an iO West alum. He's worked as a clown (American-Russian Theatre Ensemble) and toured in physical theatre (Steppenwolf alum Michael Sokoloff). He earned his B.F.A. from the University of Iowa and has trained at the Stella Adler Studio and Eric Morris Actor Workshop in LA.
