Her mother is a photographer and her father is a musician.

The family spent some time in Lisbon, Portugal, and in Morocco. In the winter, they moved to Nepal and India.

She moved to the neighborhood Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York when she was 19 and lived there for three months. And returned when she was 21 to record her album.

She and her parents lived in Stockholm until she was a toddler. When she was six they moved to a mountaintop in Portugal where they lived for five years.

Has a son, Dion (b. February 2016), with her boyfriend Jeff Bhasker.

Lykke Li has played sold-out shows in Central Park (NYC), throughout the rest of the US, Europe and the UK, and has appeared on television in the US and Europe, including Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (2009), Conan (2010), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2003), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992), Later... With Jools Holland (1992) and more. In the sumer of 2011, she has played at more than 30 festivals, worldwide.
