- Nephew of South Africa's greatest cricketer Graeme Pollock and son of former star fast bowler Peter Pollock.
- Only the third cricketer to score 3000 test runs and take 400 test wickets, the others being New Zealand's Sir Richard Hadlee and India's Kapil Dev.
