Biography

Katherine Joan Taylor never played Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz", but she did play a munchkin, palace guard, Oz citizen, and Wicked Witch of the East in Bob and Dorothy Antrim's Salt Lake City production when she was nine. Since moving to LA, she has continued exploring her ability to play a myriad of characters. She has been cast in multiple film productions as moms (both dysfunctional and kind), a detective, a teacher, a reporter, and notably, a psychopath. She has a B.F.A. from the University of Utah's Actor Training Program, where she trained with Kenneth Washington, who also taught regularly at Juilliard. Early successes include playing Lulu in Wedekind's First Lulu for Milwaukee's Theatre X, where Willem Dafoe got his start in theater. She also played the eponymous role in Milwaukee Repertory Theater's production of Everyman. When the production was invited to premiere in Shanghai, China, Katherine was privileged to play Everyman in front of a Chinese audience at the Shanghai Grand Theater. It was the first time Everyman was performed in China. In early 2020, she wrote two short films - the drama Sara, directed by Katherine and produced by Gareth Williams (Mindhunter), and the horror film, You Know How This Goes, in which she starred. More recently, she starred in the horror short I Am Not Okay. In addition to acting, writing, and directing, she enjoys yoga, weight lifting, running, playing guitar, riding roller coasters and volunteering for the homeless. She lives with her husband, Brad Arnold, son, Stellan Arnold (yes, he's named after the actor Stellan Skarsgard), and two ridiculous cats.
