Biography

Gisela Adisa is an American born actress and the proud daughter of Caribbean and West African expats. She has been New York based since attending and graduating from Fordham University's Lincoln Center College of the Arts, and has worked extensively in theatre ever since. After shifting her focus to film and television, she played Sandra opposite Michelle Monaghan and Morgan Spector in Sundance's Dramatic Award winner, 'Nanny', and also played the lead in the award winning indie film, 'Shield.' TV series of note include 'FBI', the hit heist series, 'Kaleidoscope' with Paz Vega and Rufus Sewell, and the Starz Network series 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' with Patina Miller, the latter being under the direction of Mario Van Peebles. Her next lead role feature, 'Scars that Define Us' premiered at the Roxbury Film Festival and was just screened at this year's Academy Award qualifying LA Shorts Film Festival.

Filming for a lead role in the upcoming indie, 'Spoils of Office' begins in August 2026.

Gisela voiced The Tooth Fairy in Dreamworks' animated tv series, 'Dew Drop Diaries' and Stella the Pigeon on Netlix's 'Ridley Jones'. Her solo song, "Cool Like Me" can be found on the Ridley Jones soundtrack.

This Broadway alum was nominated for the Ovation Awards for best supporting actress by the L.A. Alliance, for originating the role of Eartha Kitt with Dulé Hill as Nat 'King' Cole in Colman Domingo's 'Lights Out' at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse. She played a supporting role in Diane Paulus' iteration of '1776,' which started off at the American Repertory Theater of Harvard before continuing on to Broadway. She then played the lead role of John Adams in the 1st national tour of of said production, performing to rave reviews at several critically acclaimed theaters across the country, including the Ahmanson in Los Angeles and the Kennedy Center in D.C.
