Marcel Sawicki is an California based writer/director working in film and advertising.
His family immigrated to the US as refugees when we was six years old, settling in the SF Bay Area.
While at film school, he worked as a translator for the Shoah Foundation, managed a textiles business in DTLA, and was an industrial painter.
His short, The Loneliness of the Short-Order Cook, about a Japanese immigrant's last night in Los Angeles before being deported, was produced by Opus Film (Ida, Cold War) and was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was presented at NYMoMA.
After his foray into short film, he moved to Europe where he focused on directing ads and writing narrative projects - one of which was The Coldest Game for Netflix.
