Naoki Yoshida is a Japanese video game producer, director, and designer at Square Enix who is legendary for "rescuing" the critically panned Final Fantasy XIV and transforming it into one of the most successful MMORPGs of all time. Affectionately known by fans as "Yoshi-P", he leads Creative Studio III as Vice President and Executive Officer.
Yoshida began his career in 1993 at Hudson Soft, where he worked on iconic series like Bomberman and Far East of Eden. After joining Square Enix in 2005, he gained attention for his work on the Dragon Quest franchise, specifically as the chief planner for Dragon Quest X. His career hit a major turning point in 2010 when he was handpicked to overhaul Final Fantasy XIV, leading to the highly successful relaunch known as A Realm Reborn in 2013.
In addition to his continued leadership of Final Fantasy XIV, Yoshida produced the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy XVI, which released in 2023. He is renowned for his transparency and direct communication with players, most notably through his regular "Letter from the Producer LIVE" broadcasts.
