Ex-Formula One racing driver, who raced for: Larrousse (1988 (1 GP), 1990 (16 GPs)-1991 (11 GPs)), Zakspeed (1989 (16 GPs Not Pre-Qualified)), Footwork (1992 (14 GPs)-1993 (16 GPs)), Jordan (1994 (1 GP)) and Ligier (1995 (5 GPs)). He started 64 Grands Prix, 1 Podium and 8 Points. Best ranked in the World Championship: 12th in 1990.
The third place secured by Aguri Suzuki at the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix was his first and only podium finish in Formula 1, and he became the first Japanese driver to achieve this feat.
From 2006 Aguri Suzuki ran the Super Aguri F1 Formula One team with the backing of Honda. The team made its debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix on 12 March 2006. On 6 May 2008, after competing in the opening four races of the season, the team withdrew from Formula One due to financial problems.
